Katie Lee-Koven wants to ensure that the high quality of life we value in Logan and Cache Valley is thoughtfully maintained through values-based sustainable growth. This includes supporting a new multi-purpose indoor recreation and community center initiative, partnering with USU on housing challenges, continuing efforts to improve downtown areas, developing a more strategic plan for cultural offerings, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Katie has served as chair of the Hillcrest Neighborhood Council for the past four years, is a founding member of the Public Art Committee for the City of Logan, and is a member of the Logan General Plan steering committee. In these roles, she has executed Hillcrest neighborhood priorities and updated the neighborhood plan with community involvement; improved communication about city-related projects with residents; provided expertise on public art projects around the city to ensure quality and add beauty; and advocated for citizens on issues such as thoughtful development and improved recreation resources.
Professionally, Katie is the Executive Director at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University. She is a recognized leader who has overseen multimillion-dollar capital campaigns to improve access to art and expand programs in the community. Additionally, she has expanded community engagement and services for K-12 students to every school in Logan and Cache School Districts to support grade-level learning requirements, and create a welcoming museum experience for all. She is married to Mark Lee-Koven, a professor at USU, and has a daughter enrolled in the Logan City School District. You may see Katie running the Logan trails with her dog, Pepper, coaching her daughter’s basketball team, enjoying friends, music, and vendors at the Gardner’s Market, or attending a performance at the Eccles or Lyric Theatre!
